All in the Taste
Another new product to hit supermarket shelves is Porters Jamaican Crushed Red Pepper Sauce. On the market for just under eight months, the product was developed out of a necessity for a quality Jamaican pepper sauce that could compete with top-notch global brands. “We aim to make a world-class product that is a cut above the rest. A piquant, savoury line of pepper sauces designed to entice all palates. The texture, flavour and aroma of the sauces are sure to transform a simple meal into a gourmet affair… as our tagline says, ‘it’s all in the taste’,” shared Porters’ Managing Director Chris Porter.
The crushed red pepper sauce is made from West Indian red peppers, sugar and modified cornstarch, and Thursday Food can confirm that it tastes as hot as it looks. The Porters line also stocks the Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce — made from Scotch bonnet peppers, cane vinegar and food starch; while the Crushed Red Pepper Powder is still in its developmental stage.
The Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce retails at $125.10 + GCT, while the Crushed Red Pepper Sauce fetches a cost of $108.60 + GCT. The Porters pepper sauces can be found in all MegaMart locations, Jamaican shops in both the Norman Manley and Sangster international airports, and resort shops on the north coast.
