C’Bar still in front with nine finals to go
CALABAR High continue to lead the GraceKennedy ISSA Boys and Girls Athletics Championships after 30 finals with 215.5 points ahead of Kingston College (KC) with 194 and defending champion Jamaica College (JC) third on 158 points.
Earlier Calabar had opened up a 45 points lead but after 30 finals, KC have fought back well and reduced it to just 21 points setting the stage for an intriguing grand finale.
JC are on 34 points behind KC and 57 adrift of Calabar and it will take a miracle for the boys from Old Hope Road to retain their title.
With nine finals to come, it could be rather interesting as KC are stronger in the relays while Calabar failed to advance to the Medley Open final.
