Lunch in 9.58
With the London 2012 Olympic Games a mere four months away, Tracks & Records is upping the tempo and is fresh out of the blocks with its new ‘Lunch in 9.58 (minutes)’ special and Olympic spirits cocktails menus. Known for its expansive menu and authentic sports bar experience, Tracks & Records is confident it has found the formula to ensure that customers who stop by for lunch are served in under 10 minutes. During Thursday Food’s visit to the restaurant and bar, co-director Kevin Bourke informed us: “Lunch in 9.58 is about giving the customers speedy and quality service. If a person’s break time is an hour, they can stop by knowing that they will be served in real time and be out and back to work on time.” Tweaking the eatery’s lunch menu, Lunch in 9.58 will introduce pastas: tomato basil marinara, creamy alfredo, pasta primavera, as well as such Jamaican-flavoured eats as jerk platter, which is inclusive of jerk chicken and pork; stew beef; janga soup and island salad; the jerk chicken quesadilla; and jerk chicken spring rolls. Not only can customers expect speedier service, the restaurant has also made adjustments to its prices. “There have been drastic cuts in both the prices of our drink specials and that of the meals. Prices have been cut by 30 to 40 per cent on both the cocktail drinks and food items,” Bourke revealed. It’s no idle boast! The new menu, printed and placed on each dining table, showcases meal prices beginning at $700 (with a complimentary soft drink or Red Stripe Light paired with the meal). Drink specials (mixed with Smirnoff vodka, Appleton and J Wray and Nephew rums) start at $200 per cocktail and as low as $700 per cue.
The new lunch menu is but one of the promotions the restaurant will be undertaking leading up to the Olympic games this summer. Bourke divulged that there will be a number of promotions prior to the games. He told Thursday Food: “Besides the actual stadium in London, the best place to see the upcoming Olympic games will be at Tracks & Records.” The marketing director also shared that the new menus will not change even after the Olympic games are complete as they are aiming to give customers value for every cent spent. With the eatery on the brink of celebrating its one-year anniversary, the directors at Track & Records are looking to add new and exciting items to the menu, and improving as best as possible, to suit customer needs. Bourke shared: “Customers are not just paying for a meal when they dine here. We believe that they’re paying for quality service and an authentic Jamaican experience at very cost-efficient prices.”
