Gleneve Grange smashes championships record
HOLMWOOD Technical’s Gleneve Grange underlined her favorites tag in the Class 2 girls’ discus at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Girls Championships today as she smashed the championships record, throwing 46.64m in the preliminaries.
The multi talented Grange erased the 45.65m set by Edwin Allen’s Sasha-Gay Marston two years ago as she led the 15 qualifiers for Friday’s final set to start at 1:35pm
Grange is hoping to improve on her fifth place from last year and with the gold and silver medalists from last year, Tara-sue Barnett and Kellion Knibb now competing in Class 1, she will be the red hot favorite.
Four other finalists from last year are back in the finals this year — St Jago’s Shannique Waite who won the bronze last year, as well as Mannings School’s Omesha Locke who was fourth, Tasha Cross of Edwin Allen High and Natanya McNeish of Holmwood Technical.
