Top Caribbean businesses to be recognised
BUSINESSES of all sizes from all sectors – public or private – will vie to be named the top in their field when the 2012 Caribbean Business Awards are announced in September this year.
Entries are open and eligible businesses across the Caribbean diaspora have until July 31, 2012 to submit their examples of world-class ‘best practice’ in their operations.
The awards ceremony is supported by the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC), the umbrella body of trade associations across the region.
Award categories cover a range of business activities including management, sales, marketing, customer service and technology, and are open to individuals and businesses alike.
Among the business award categories are Small to Medium Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year and Business of the Year – which will be awarded to one company selected from the overall finalists. However, there are also individual awards for Caribbean Entrepreneur of the Year and the Award for Innovation, which can go to either an individual or organisation that originates forward-thinking concepts to instigate improvement.
Industry achievements will also be recognised through the Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Award, the Manufacturing Excellence Award and the Contact Centre of the Year.
Strong emphasis is also being placed on how the businesses relate to their external and internal customers as there will also be Customer Excellence Awards in both the “Small To Medium” and “Large” business categories; as well as an Employer Of The Year Award to recognise those businesses that have demonstrated how the design and implementation of its human resources policy.
