Jamaica Broilers and Wisynco to invest in new finance house
TWO of Jamaica’s leading conglomerates — Jamaica Broilers Group and Wisynco Group Caribbean Limited — have announced that they will be major investors in a new boutique financial house, called BCW Capital.
The financial organisation plans to open to the public in the second quarter of 2012, subject to the receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals. BCW Capital is currently completing the build-out of its state-of-the-art headquarters in New Kingston.
President & CEO of the Jamaica Broilers Group Christopher Levy said: “BCW Capital will draw upon the core values, heritage, integrity, trust and stability of our two companies, with a clear mission to be the most customer-centric financial services company in the Caribbean.”
Managing Director of the Wisynco Group Caribbean William Mahfood noted that: “We are upbeat about Jamaica’s prospects and are confident that this investment in BCW Capital will assist families and companies in building wealth and achieving their financial goals.”
Representatives from both Jamaica Broilers Group and Wisynco Group will sit on the board of directors, which will be chaired by Aubyn Hill, former group managing director of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, who turned around the finances of that bank within two years. He also established Nation Growth Micro Finance Limited, which extends working capital to micro and small enterprises.
