Hanna to chair Jamaica 50 Inter-Ministerial Committee
CABINET has approved the establishment of an Inter Ministerial Committee to oversee the activities for Jamaica 50 celebrations.
The committee will be chaired by Youth and Culture Minister Lisa Hanna. The other members are Minister of National Security Peter Bunting; Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Anthony Hylton; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade A J Nicholson; Minister of Tourism and Entertainment Wykeham McNeil, and a representative from the Ministry of Finance.
The committee will consult with the Jamaican Diaspora, the private sector and the many ethnic groups that contribute to Jamaica’s development.
Cabinet also approved the appointment of the following members to the board of the National Solid Waste Management Authority NSWMA:
* Steve Ashley – chairman;
* Clyde Williams, deputy chairman;
* Anne Shirley;
* Paul Lyn;
* Omar Sweeney; and
* Sharon Crooks, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Local Government.
