Island Routes twins World Travel award again
ISLAND Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours was again named ‘World’s Leading Caribbean Attraction Company’ at the 18th Annual Grand Final Gala Ceremony of the World Travel Awards on Wednesday in Doha, Qatar.
“It is an honour to be recognised again with this prestigious award by our travel partners and clientele worldwide, and to know that we are on the right route consistently by always delivering the highest standards of service,” said Island Routes General Manager David Shields.
“Island Routes is the region’s fastest growing tour company, and we have one goal — to introduce visitors to the authentic Caribbean, our Caribbean — by offering the best of the best experiences and service,” added Shields.
Described as the Caribbean’s innovative tour and excursion company, Island Routes, which first won this award in 2010, offers more than 200 certified tour and destination experiences in Antigua, The Bahamas, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, St Lucia and the Turks & Caicos Islands, showcasing the culture, beauty and natural resources in each unique island destination.
The company’s clients have the option of swimming with turtles, stingrays, sharks, explore the treasures of the sea on a catamaran or sail to secluded beaches and waterfalls.
Pirate parties and beach lymes are also offered to clients, who can, in addition, take to the sky on ziplines and see a live volcano by helicopter, go swimming on horseback, hunt for conch and lobster, and fish for marlin and snapper.
In addition to taking the World Travel Awards in 2010 and 2011, Island Routes has also received two Six Star Diamond Awards from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, the only adventure tour company to ever be honoured with this celebrated award.
The World Travel Awards was launched in 1993 to recognise excellence in the world’s travel and tourism industry. Votes are cast by industry professionals as well as the traveling public in more than 160 countries.
