Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) looks to list on JSE Junior Market
Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) has announced an Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited as the bakery seeks admission to the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Junior Market in 2012.
Subsequent to SSL’s imminent IPO for Intellectual Property start-up, C2W Music Limited, this is anticipated to be SSL’s 3rd IPO on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. In addition, SSL recently announced a partnership with
FirstCaribbean International Bank Jamaica (FCIBJ) for the distribution of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) arranged by SSL via the Bank’s 13 branches island wide.
Trading under the “Purity” and “Miss Birdie” brands, Consolidated Bakeries’ tradition of excellence in baking breads and buns began over 50 years ago. While the company’s product line has expanded to include a variety of baked goods such as pastries, this tradition continues today, as Consolidated Bakeries remains committed to producing nutritional products of high quality for its valued Jamaican and North American customers.
Headquartered on Valentine Drive in Kingston, Consolidated Bakeries employs approximately 120 staff members including sales & distribution representatives charged with delivering quality products on a timely basis to retail outlets across the Island.
The proceeds of the Company’s IPO will primarily be used to improve internal processes as Consolidated Bakeries strives for constant innovation, efficiency and providing premier service as it delivers “pure wholesome goodness” to its customers. The Company will also seek to fund expansion activities as it improves its competitiveness within its local and international markets.
