Tired of the blame game
Dear Editor,
One of the things that perturbs me is the blame game and the painting of a very bad image of each other in politics. I sat and watch the three political debates thus far — the Central Manchester debate, the youth debate and the finance debate — and the blame game was played in all three.
This election gives me the opportunity to vote for the very first time, but I cannot come to a sound decision as to whom I should vote for. The political advertisements were going great, and then I realise the PNP and the JLP have started to paint a very bad picture of each other.
When is it that we are going to move away from this dirty politics? It is a shame to sit at home and watch/listen to some of the political advertisements. What is even more disturbing is that those who are producing the clips are the youths of both political parties.
Can we not see that our young people are cemented in the old politics and if given a chance they will bring to Jamaica the worst face of politics? Whom can we depend on to move this country away from this dirty, nasty politics? Are we going to continue like this as a country, even with our 50 years of independence staring us in the face?
I don’t see which of the two political parties is deserving of my vote. They are a disgrace to the nation. They are selfish, arrogant, irritating, belligerent, truculent, cantankerous and dogmatic. They only have the interest of their organisations at heart, instead of Jamaica. I am tired of the blame game. It is time that the people of Jamaica put away their political colours and cry foul for we are not seeing a change in our politics!
God help us as a nation!
Who will take us out of this mess?
