PNP supporter’s car damaged by JLP crowd in Chapelton
THE vehicle of a People’s National Party (PNP) supporter was damaged as he navigated a sea of Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters on Chapleton main road in Clarendon this morning.
The vehicle’s spoiler was ripped from it by a JLP supporter who attempted to remove an orange cloth that was tied on the car.
The more than 300 supporters – travelling on foot, by trucks and buses, and waving flags and blowing horns – escorted member of parliament Pearnel Charles into Chapleton square for nomination.
The irate car driver reported the matter to the police after the culprit ran into the crowd of supporters.
In Chapleton square, an equally large crowd gathered. Some PNP supporters jeered the bus loads of JLP supporters.
