Azan calls for peaceful campaign
PEOPLE’S National Party representative for North West Clarendon Richard Azan, today called for a peaceful election campaign after he was nominated in the town of Frankfield.
“We have an excellent turnout for today and I want to thank the people of North West Clarendon for coming out in their thousands to support me and the People’s National Party,” he said. “We just hope and look forward to a peaceful election,” he said.
He was flanked by hundreds of supporters, lead by a motorcycle escort and was nominated about 1:30 pm at the constituency’s electoral office. After turning in his relevant information, Azan paid his nomination fee with three $1000 bills.
This as the supporters downstairs remain relentless in their blowing of horns, shouting, and revving of engines in his support.
Azan described his chances against his opponent Michael Stern as excellent.
