Walking for heart wonders
ON Sunday, November 27, 32nd staging of the annual Heart Foundation of Jamaica/Welch’s Heart Health Fund Run had yet another successful staging.
As the name suggests, the event is structured as a fund-raising activity. Companies, schools and individuals alike, gathered at National Stadium East to run (or walk) for the heart, as well as hand over sponsorship forms and monies collected for the worthy cause.
Among the participating teams in the Fund Run was IBM, Alpha Academy, Hillel Academy, Excelsior Primary School, soldiers from the Jamaica Defence Force and TEENage Observer.
In all, over 300 individuals were present showing that they were committed to the cause and to contributing to the Heart Foundation of Jamaica.
The main sponsors that allowed the idea to become a reality were Purity, Milo, MacDonald’s and Wisynco.
