JAA’s ‘Girls’ Day Out’ a hit
MORE than 60 female members of the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA) were feted and given spa treatments while their motor vehicles were washed and inspected at the “Girls’ Day Out” segment of the club’s quarterly auto clinic, at its Swallowfield headquarters, last Saturday.
This was the third in the series of clinics since the start of the year, which are targeted to motor vehicle owners, with an emphasis on female and young drivers, to educate on critical road safety issues.
“We arranged this treat to ensure that the association’s female members are up-to-date on their car maintenance needs,” said Duane Ellis, general manager of the JAA.
“By providing essential battery, brake and tyre checks, we helped to raise their consciousness about a safe driving experience,” he added.
The ladies also interacted with JAA reseller, Fidelity Motors; and affiliate partner, Guardsman Alarms Limited, which both had representatives on hand to provide information about their special products and service offerings.
“In addition to the checks, Girls’ Day Out was an acknowledgement that women drivers are special,” stated Ellis.
“We also wanted to treat the ladies with pampering services that they wouldn’t normally expect from an auto club, and, to that end, the JAA invited several of its discount partners, to provide complimentary services, such as massages, manicures, pedicures and makeup sessions”.
“I had a mani-pedi done while my car was being washed and checked,” said JAA member, Christine Rochester.
She indicated that she was pleasantly surprised when she received the invitation for the event; and “it offered an attractive combination of services”.
According to Ellis the auto clinics were also an opportunity, “to add value to annual membership in the auto club; and to expose members to the wide range of services available from the association and its discount partners.”
Discounts partners participating in Girls’ Day Out included Adam and Eve Day Spa and Salon; Leon’s School of Beauty Culture, Ankara Automotive Limited; Automotive Arts Limited; Tropical Battery; and Chad Ad Distributors.
