Blaze On The Market
“Blaze is the hottest product in the industry,” declared Rubén Patas, vice president, International & Illinois sales and marketing at Blaze Corporation, at the product’s launch at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel recently — a statement that was to be taken both figuratively and literally.
Miracle Corporation, the distributor of Blaze in Jamaica, launched the product to an audience of Jamaican chefs and caterers at the hotel’s Club House. Speaking at the event, Patas explained that food poisoning is mainly a result of diseases borne in improperly heated food. “After food has been cooked — especially meat products like chicken, beef and pork — as soon as it gets cool, bacteria begins to re-emerge and only when heated will the bacteria become dormant,” he shared. He also said a number of caterers and chefs use chafer fuels that burn for short periods, and once the food cools, they are opening a window for bacteria, which will consequently lead to persons becoming ill. Blaze, he pointed out, has a two-hour burn span that burns to boiling point temperature without the blackening residue on the chafer dish. Patas boasted that Blaze is the only company in the world with a $10-million liability insurance clause. He noted that in the event of a fire being caused by his company’s chafer fuel, the user can report this to the distributor who will in turn report it to Blaze. After investigations, if needs be, Blaze will compensate for damages caused. (Photos: Joseph Wellington)
