Wisynco opens new Wendy’s and Domino’s
Wisynco Foods Limited hosted the grand opening of its Wendy’s and Domino’s Pizza outlet in Half-Way-Tree’s Central Plaza last Thursday. The food locale at 13-15 Constant Spring Road houses the two fast-food chains, making it the 10th and fourth location islandwide for Domino’s and Wendy’s, respectively.
Sean Scott, CEO of Wisynco Foods — a subsidiary of the Wisynco Group Limited — said at the ceremony that both brands have been doing extremely well in Jamaica and he expected this trend to continue at the new location.
“Wisynco Foods are the exclusive operators of the Wendy’s and Domino’s brands in Jamaica and we are proud to know that since we have been here, it has been doing very well. This location seemed the perfect one for another in the franchise and we’re confident it will do well.”
Andrew Mahfood, Wisynco Group Limited’s director of finance, agreed that Half-Way-Tree was an ideal location. “We did our research sometime ago, and found that approximately 200,000 commuters move through the Half-Way-Tree area daily,” he noted. Making reference to an earlier conversation with Mayor of Kingston Desmond McKenzie, Mahfood added: “That figure, I was told by Mayor McKenzie, may be 300,000.”
Mahfood pointed out that consumers can walk into the dual store and select from a variety of food items. Consumers can choose from a variety of pizza types and toppings from Domino’s, including the cinnamon and cheese sticks, or enjoy Wendy’s famous chilli, baked potatoes, salads and burgers. “Wisynco Foods is all about improving the lives of the Jamaican people. We are offering great dining options in a convenient location,” Mahfood concluded.
The store was open to the public a few minutes after its launch.
