Yoplait Greek Hits Supermarket Shelves
What’s new on supermarket shelves? The new Yoplait Greek yogurt. Each six-ounce Yoplait Greek pack contains 14 to 17 grams of protein, which makes it a great protein-filled treat. Its creamy, consistent texture comes in four different flavours: strawberry, honey vanilla, plain and blueberry. Yoplait Greek yogurts are an excellent source of calcium and Vitamin D, with 40 per cent of the daily recommended value of calcium and 20 per cent of the recommended value for vitamin D.
Studies show that protein-rich food helps to satisfy hunger much better than low-protein food. When enjoying a snack, nutritionists recommend considering low-fat, high-protein choices. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is recommended that 10 to 35 per cent of consumed calories come from proteins. Children ages four to eight, for example, need 19 grams of protein, children 9-13 need 34 grams, while women 19-70 need 46 grams and men — same ages — need 56 grams.
A daily portion of Yoplait Greek provides approximately 30 per cent of the protein portion required each day per adult, an excellent choice for breakfast, snack or any time in the daily routine.
“We’re very excited about Yoplait Greek,” the brand’s manager Sharon Neins said, adding: “consumers have been looking forward to it and now it’s here for them to enjoy.” The new Yoplait Greek yogurt is distributed locally by Wisynco Group Limited and is currently available at Megamart stores islandwide, Sovereign Supermarket, Loshusan, Empire Supermarkets, General Foods, several Progressive Grocers, Carihome and Lee’s supermarkets.
