Bammies Pastas & Sweet Treats
It was difficult to feign indifference to Kenia Mattis of JP Simply Fresh Bammy who insisted that her bammies were not only different, but that she’d spread a table so fabulous that even our most jaded of judges would be forced to sit up and take note. These words were no idle boast, for innovative caterer Debe Chen from Mandeville spread a table so formidable that we were forced to pinch ourselves not once, not twice, but several times during the course of last week Tuesday evening as we sat and dined on bammies in every shape, form and size, from appetiser to entrée.
Guest judges included international recording star Sean Paul (who shared with us his passion for food and the fact that he studied Culinary Management at UTech). VMBS chairman Michael McMorris was another of our guest judges who was so impressed with the evening’s presentation that he, like Sean Paul, stayed until after 10:00 pm discussing the immense possibilities of our local culinary landscape.
