The Travel Channel’s Andrew Zimmern brings Bizarre Foods to the Rock
Jamaica was abuzz last week as news broke that famed Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods was on The Rock.
Arriving on March 7 for a weeklong taste-testing (and filming) of some of Jamaica’s most delightful eats, the foodie made his way across the island, stopping to sample Scotchie’s famous pimento wood jerk, curried goat from Faith’s Pen, Aunt Merl’s delightful fish and festival at Hellshire beach, as well as refreshing ital eats from Yvonne Hope’s Ashanti Oasis vegetarian restaurant. He even paid a house call on singing siblings Tami and Tessanne Chynn, who treated him to a ‘Jamaicanese’ spread of foogah, pork and dasheen, roasted fish and ‘malai’ chicken. These were just a few of the stops Zimmern made before heading back to the United States.
He and his production crew left on Sunday March 13, and the Bizarre Foods episode featuring Jamaica is scheduled to air in May.
