HoneyKist – Kissed with Flavour
With a subtle ‘kiss’ of flavour, HoneyKist Honey Fusions adds a unique twist to your everyday meal.
Since 2009, the family-owned business of Yvonne Frederick, her children Malcolm Frederick and Michele Johnson, along with Michele’s husband David, has been churning out a savoury 100 per cent pure Jamaican ‘wild flower’ honey, that has been infused with the savour of local fruits and spices. Thus far, five flavours — ginger, lime, Blue Mountain coffee, pimento (allspice) and habañero (Scotch bonnet) — are available, all without the addition of artificial flavours, ingredients or oils. In 2010 HoneyKist officially registered as a company and launched its Honey Fusions at the Shanghai Expo in September 2010, and then introduced it to the local market in November later that year.
The company tries to ensure that their smooth golden honey is pleasing to the eyes, nose and palate, complementing not only your food, but beverages as well, adding a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the culinary experience.
Produced in Jamaica with honey from HoneyKist’s two apiaries and from that purchased from small local bee farmers, HoneyKist’s Honey Infusions is not heated, but aged to perfection, ensuring the quality and goodness and purity of the product.
Available in 145g (4oz) and 250g (6oz) bottles, HoneyKist Fusions may be used to sweeten hot or cold beverages, drizzled on desserts or salads, poured on pancakes and waffles and to add additional flavour to meats.
Currently available at their Central Road location, HoneyKist products will soon appear on supermarket shelves as well as in gift shops. And they’ll be introducing two or three new flavours later this year.
Thursday Food shares with you two delectable ways to use HoneyKist Honey Fusion — a sumptuous fruit salsa and zesty cocktail.
