In the aftermath of the revelation that an extradition request was made by the United States government for former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, graffiti appeared in the Corporate Area labelling Phillips as a ‘CIA’ (US Central Intelligence Agency) and ‘a sell out’.
Speaking under cross-examination from attorney KD Knight, Phillips said Golding had not reprimanded Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters for labelling him in a negative light. He also said Golding had not commented on the graffiti on walls near the House of Parliament in downtown Kingston or Golding’s own West Kingston constituency.
According to Phillips, the graffiti could be seen as part of a carefully designed campaign tolerated by the JLP leadership.
