The Porus High School is known for their amazing achievements in sports. They won the rural Under-16 football competition; they have done well in track and field and have the trophies and medals to prove it. The school has done well in academics as Porus High School was the Spelling Bee Champions and the students have done well in the previous CXC examinations, as 65 per cent of the students passed five or more subjects. With an academic staff of 50 members, most teachers either have a degree or they are pursuing their degree, which shows that the teachers are well equipped with the necessary skills to ensure a good learning environment.
