Tega lands show in England
New York-based singer Tega is on a major push to roll out a number of commercially friendly songs this Christmas to capitalize on her recent single, Cant Hold Me Down .
“I have been getting a lot of positive feedback for the video so far. Can’t hold me down has been making its move through the airwaves not only in Jamaica and New York but has become very popular in England, Canada, Boston, Florida. I’m set for a show next in England. I will also be appearing in Chicago at the end of the month,” she said.
She has also been booked to perform at Wavs beach on December 27. She is eyeing a major collaboration with a local artiste for a single called Tell Me You Want Me.
“I can’t tell you who yet because we haven’t signed off on it but it’s going to be a big one, and I will definitely be shooting a video for it next year,” Tega said.
In the meantime, Tega’s followup single, “Don’t Pressure Me” will be released on an independent label in December.
After making her name as a precocious young singer in an utra-successful gospel group, and performing alongside music industry heavyweights at famous venues such as Madison Square Gardens and other huge arenas, Tega has finally found her individual voice.
“I have been doing a lot of interviews in the tri-state area with media personnel and I have been getting tremendous feedback on my facebook and myspace pages, fans have been saying they like my flow and my delivery. I am going all out to shut the haters up and take over my spot,” she said.
“I am now assembling a street team to aggressively promote my songs in the street dances in Kingston as Christmas approaches and I believe the song ah go blow everyone away for the rest of the year,” she said.
