‘Why did God give me this life?’ asks Beyoncé
She may appear to live a charmed life, but Beyoncé Knowles has revealed she sometimes feels “overwhelmed” by her success. Wearing no make-up the star — ranked as Forbes magazine’s ninth most powerful woman in the world — speaks candidly about how lonely she gets while travelling the world in a new documentary.
The Single Ladies singer, 29, turned the camera on herself during quiet times on tour for her new documentary I Am World Tour, which aired as a special yesterday. She is seen tearing up as she ponders: “Why did God give me this life?”
Of her decision to star in the documentary, she says: “I wanted the fans to be able to see what I see.”
“It’s a lot of things I reveal about myself that I could never give to a director.” Other scenes show the star wearing a shawl and travelling to see the pyramids in Egypt. Beyoncé, who has sold more than 11 million albums worldwide, said the hardest clip to leave in the documentary was when she was in China. “There was one moment I was in China and I was in this huge suite and I looked out the window and there were just thousands of people walking and I couldn’t believe my life,” she said. “I guess I was a bit lonely and I wanted to talk to someone so I opened up my computer and I just talked.”
In the preview clip — aired in the US yesterday — Beyoncé ponders why she is so successful. “Sometimes it’s overwhelming. Why did God give me my talent, my gift, my family. But I know you’re not supposed to question God. Only God knows and I don’t take it for granted,” the singer says.

Sarah Ferguson trips and nearly falls as she leaves charity dinner
There couldn’t have been a more timely reminder of the pitfalls of becoming a Royal princess. As auspicious news came of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s impending wedding at Westminster Abbey, the Duchess of York was busy showing us just how not to do the job. Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew,
is pictured here tripping, apparently worse for wear, first over a manhole cover and then over her flowing gown as she made an undignified exit from a charity dinner.
As she threw her arms aloft trying to regain her balance, a car screeched to a halt as she stumbled into its path. She had walked out into the busy road — Park Street in London’s Mayfair — without looking left or right for traffic as affluent guests busily left the dinner and were picked up by their drivers.
First she stumbled as her black stiletto shoe caught on a manhole cover in the road. Her legs seemed to buckle beneath her but she made a miraculous recovery, perhaps after being given a sobering blast from the car’s horn. Then just three steps later her trailing right leg became entangled in the train of her purple gown, which only served to quicken her descent into the back seat of her waiting car on the far side of the road.

Heidi Montag blames dead doctor for her plastic surgery addiction
She infamously underwent 10 surgeries in one day, including a chin reduction and second nose job. But Heidi Montag now claims she did not feel ‘prepared enough’ for the procedures, and blames her late surgeon Dr Frank Ryan. “Maybe I should have known,” the former Hills star says on TV special Primetime: Celebrity Plastic Surgery Gone Too Far?
She remarks: “how can you know when your doctor’s saying, “It’s just a little of this, it’s just a little of that? You know, it really becomes a lot. I definitely think I should have been way more informed,” she says. “I think that doctors should really walk you through all aspects of it, not just the glamorous side of it. Doctors, it’s like they’re selling you cookies or something.”
Montag’s surgery was performed by Dr Frank Ryan, who died this past August. He passed away from head injuries after his Jeep tipped over the side of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Back then, a shocked Heidi actually paid tribute to her doctor. Heidi tweeted that he was “The most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met”, she added.
