Rivoli thrash Waterford in St Catherine KO
SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine — Demoted Premiership team Rivoli United cruised into the second-round of the LIME/St Catherine Knockout football competition following a comprehensive 6-1 whipping of Waterford FC in a rescheduled first-round game at Waterford High.
Fidel Anderson led the way for the Spanish Town club with a hat-trick in the 14th, 52nd and 79th minutes, while Derrick Planter, Brandon Bennett and Ocane Williamson completed the rout with second-half goals.
Andre Whyte scored Waterford’s consolation goal in the 71st minute.
Elsewhere, Derrington Duffus netted on the stroke of half-time as Dela-Vega City clipped Pen Acres 1-0; Newlands stopped Racing United 4-2; Spanish Town Police outscored McCook’s Pen 4-3; DB Basovak got by Daytona FC 3-1, while Rodwood edged Wanderers 1-0.
