Holmwood tackle Frome in netball quarter-finals
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — Defending champions Holmwood Technical aim to maintain their rich vein of form in the ISSA/Digicel Rural Area Senior League netball competition when they take on Frome Technical in quarter-final action at St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) today.
The Carlene Graham-coached Manchester girls, who are unbeaten in the competition this season, qualified for the round of eight as Group Four winners with a perfect record of five wins.
Led by national youth player Deneen Taylor in attack, the All-Island champs averaged more than 45 points per game in the second-round, and Frome, who qualified for the quarter-finals as runners-up to Group One winners Denbigh High, could be in for a torrid time on the court if they are not at their best.
In other quarter-final matches set for STETHS, Manning’s School do battle with Tacius Golding, while Herbert Morrison go up against Glenmuir. Denbigh and Titchfield meet at The Queen’s School.
Meanwhile, in Junior League action, also at STETHS, title holders Holmwood will play the Anchovy High; Herbert Morrison tackle Manning’s School in a western derby; Glenmuir take on Belfield, while Denbigh and Titchfield clash at The Queen’s School.
Action begins at 10:00 am with the Juniors.
