Champions on show
THE Rottweiler Association of Jamaica hosted it’s 30th Annual Championship Breed Show last Sunday at the Jamaica Hockey Federation Grounds, Mona.
Established in 1982, the association encourages and promotes the quality breeding of pure-bred rottweilers, and does all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. It also encourages the organisation of rottweiler breeders to meet the requirements of the Jamaica Kennel Club (JKC); urges members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the association as the only standard of excellence by which rottweilers should be judged; and does all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials.
Over the years the rottweiler has become the most sought after pure-bred dog in Jamaica and their registration with the JKC greatly exceeds that of any other breed, the association said.
It said the show imparts useful information and knowledge to interested dog owners and lovers of the breed alike.
