Cavalier take aim at Real Mona
Leaders Cavalier hunt the scalp of Real Mona and aim to extend their lead atop the Claro Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League today at Collie Smith Drive.
Cavalier are on 16 points play a Real Mona team lying in 10th spot on four points.
The leaders have rattled up five wins from six games, while drawing once and should prove too hot to handle as they hunt yet another win.
Real Mona won their first game of the season last week by edging Mountain View 3-2 and will be hunting win number two, but will find Cavalier a different and tougher opponent.
Second-placed August Town, on 14 points, travel to fifth-placed Rockfort, four points behind, knowing they cannot slip up in their quest to overall Cavalier.
Both August Town and Cavalier are the only two unbeaten teams in the league, but August Town will be severely tested at the Rockfort Field.
Third-placed the University of the West Indies (UWI) on 11 points tackle a Duhaney Park outfit on three points, lying second from bottom in the 12-team league.
Santos, who registered the biggest margin of victory last week, should add Bull Bay to their growing list of victims at Bull Pen. Currently in fourth spot on 10 points, Santos are expected to successfully see off bottom-placed Bull Bay who continue to struggle with a measly two points.
Sixth and seventh-placed teams Rae Town and Constant Spring, both on eight points, face each other at the Constant Spring Complex, while eighth and ninth-placed Barbican and Mountain View on seven and five points, respectively, will meet at Excelsior High School.
In the Claro Major League, two of last week’s winners — Brown’s Town and Olympic Gardens — clash in the feature match of the round at Vauxhall High School.
In the other matches, last week’s big winners Police Nationals travel to Cooreville Gardens, Greenwich Town are away to Shortwood United, Allman/Woodford host Molynes United at Heroes Circle, while Stony Hill tackle Seaview Gardens, who are eager to rebound from their 0-1 loss to Brown’s Town and will be giving nothing away.
