Negril Rotarians help with animal clinic
MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Negril, along with a team of veterinarians, technicians and volunteers, last week helped spay and neuter over 300 animals at the International Spay/Neuter Network Negril Clinic.
The clinic ran from October 23-25 at the Negril Community Centre.
Negril Rotarians fed dogs and cats with donated food in designated feeding areas for a few weeks before the clinic to attract strays so they could be captured. Other members of the club worked in the areas of intake and registration, surgery prep and recovery during the clinic. Rotarians also designed, printed and distributed over 140 flyers before the event.
Spaying and neutering cats and dogs help with unwanted breeding, reduces risk of cancer, helps prevent roaming and fighting resulting in injuries and screwworm infestations, helps with fewer cases of STDs and gives general good health.
