DIY Pink ribbon Cupcakes…
This week I dedicate this article to Monique “Mahima” Geourzoung, who lost her long battle with breast cancer mere minutes before the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
She was a bright, strong and beautiful young woman who loved sweet treats like chocolate, cookies and cupcakes, so it was quite ironic that in preparing to bake her family some cupcakes, I saw cupcake liners, sprinkles, cookie cutters and napkins bearing the pink ribbon supporting breast cancer awareness at LOSHUSAN Supermarket. It’s no wonder Loshusan has won the Observer Food Award for the best shopping experience, because it’s wonderful finds like these that keep me and many others going back to their store.
You don’t have to be a baker to create a wonderful gesture like this for someone you may know who is living with, or has survived breast cancer. You can buy store-made cupcakes or cake mixes, simply:
o present them in the liners
o top them with the sprinkles
o and present them with the napkins
A sweet treat like this is sure to bring a smile to the face and warm the heart of someone in need of just that…rest in peace, Monique.
