‘Wine and Cheese PLUS Jazz & Art’
It will be a night of soothing melodies and libations as the Rotary Club of Downtown Kingston readies itself for its annual Wine & Cheese event. Dubbed ‘Wine and Cheese PLUS Jazz & Art’, the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 30, with guests set to gather at the Wyndham New Kingston Hotel at 6pm.
In addition to jazz and Jamaican classics, the event will feature an auction comprising numerous works of art created by some of our leading visual artists, as well as a few promising young talents.
Carl Abrahams, Barrington Watson, Alexander Cooper, Roy Reid, Howard Moo Young, Judy Macmillan, Fitz Harrack, David Pottinger and Paul Blackwood are a few of the artists whose work will be on display and up for bid by auctioneer Emile Finlay.
Proceeds from the event will aid projects of the Rotary Club of Downtown Kingston, including support for the elderly and mentorship of the youths in the downtown area, a scholarship programme for bright but financially challenged students, and their main project this year — the provision and expansion of cardiac care at the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
