Carib Cement announces price break
CARIBBEAN Cement Company has lowered the price of its cement, a move the company hopes will help stimulate the struggling construction sector.
The price break, which took effect yesterday, now sees the ex-factory price of its 42.5-kg bag of Carib Cement Plus reduced by 7.5 per cent, or by $43 per bag. The ex-factory price is now $525.
“Carib Cement felt that this was a good time to encourage more concrete use and to assist the rebuilding and upgrades after Tropical Storm Nicole. The company is hoping that the end user will benefit from this initiative and that the construction sector will receive a much-needed boost,” the company said in a release yesterday.
“The ex-factory price of Carib Cement Plus is the same at any Carib Cement facility in Jamaica. As such, the distance from the Rockfort plant should not make the product more expensive to the end user,” the release added.
