Seafood Heaven
The ‘wicked city’, known for its seafood offerings, sought to further cement its reputation as the capital’s favourite seafood spot with the third staging of the Grace Tropical Rhythms Port Royal Seafood Festival held on Heroes’ Day, Monday, October 18.
The one-day event, held at the Port Royal Football Field, attracted several chefs, local celebrities and foodies eager to share in the day’s activities.
Midst a most unforgiving sun, children played and adults busied themselves going from booth to booth in an effort to sample the various fare.
Festival organiser Jennifer ‘Jenny Jenny’ Small, who also doubled as the day’s MC, kept the vibe going with lots of jokes and on-the-spot competitions like the popular Grace Jack Mackerel Celebrity Cook-off and the Jamaica Flour Mills Fried Dumpling Contest that literally took the cake.
Thursday Food brings you highlights from the fun-filled event.
