Tissue Paper Fun
Nothing is more cheerful than flowers; whether they’re real, faux or fantasy, and out of a need to add playful and bright flowers to the decor for a six-year-old’s birthday party, I decided to make my own flowers.
The idea came about when I saw how interesting tissue paper looks when it’s crushed, so I decided to make the flower petals out of crushed tissue paper in a variety of bright and beautiful colours.
For this project you will need:
* Cartridge/construction
paper or felt
* Tissue (gift) paper
* Pencil
* Scissors
* Glue
You will then:
* Draw a flower like a sunflower or daisy onto your paper, making sure to mark the round centre
* Cut out the flower at outline
* Tear/cut tissue paper into small pieces and then crush the pieces
* Spread glue all over the paper
* Stick crushed pieces of paper to the glue to form petals, making sure to add a contrasting colour to the centre of flower
* Make sure that all areas are filled in
And voilà! You have adorable fantasy flowers that are great for adding lots of colour and interest to your party decor. Pair these tissue paper flowers with tissue paper pompoms and your decor is complete. This is a really fun project for you and the kids to do together, so have fun with it for your next party.
