Like any health-conscious individual, Henry strongly believes that what you ingest determines how well your body performs and how it strengthens the immune system to combat illness.

He especially believes that since water comprises 70 per cent of our body mass, it is imperative to consume healthy beverages in correct proportions.

Henry’s Mannings Hill Road establishment sells Kangen Alkaline Water — which he can filter and test before your very eyes — and a selection of natural fruit juices depending on what is in season — which he makes and sweetens with honey. For the past six months he has been providing a healthier alternative to the water, juices and drinks normally purchased. The juices contain no preservatives or additives, so the body extracts exactly what it needs and no waste acids and sugars are stored.

“The human body has a natural pH-balance of 7.5 – 8, so what I do is filter regular tap water, which is already treated to remove the acids and bring the pH-balance to over 7,” he told Thursday Life. “Alkaline water is therefore more absorbent, it cleanses the body and neutralises the waste acids, thus energising us and making us healthier by extension,” he continued. His bar not only provides a healthier alternative, but also a more affordable one. Kangen Alkaline Water retails for J$50, $100 and $200 per bottle depending on the size, with refills at $160 per gallon, while Natural I juices are priced at J$100 and $150 per bottle. He also sells by the gallon, but this is done on a per-order basis.

He urges Jamaicans to drink healthy in an effort to improve their health and lifestyle, as his slogan says “Change your water, change your health.”
