Wet and Wild fun
Tis the season for birthday parties, because statistics show that most Jamaican births are between September and October (Holiday conception), but ’tis also the season of RAIN. So a great idea when planning a party for this time of year (besides a covered contingency) is to have an all-out wet party, let the kids invited carry swimsuits because if they’re already wet, what’s the difference if a little rain wets them too?
1. First plan is to get a wet slide – kids love a bounce-about and slide, so why not a wet one?
2. Turn on the sprinklers; attach sprinklers to your garden hose and let them just have fun on the lawn
3. A pool party is also great, but I would only recommend this for older kids who know how to swim and would also recommend having a certified lifeguard/swim instructor present. Another option is small inflatable pools
4. And throw some balls and noodles in the mix and the kids will have a whale of a time, come rain or shine
If you opt for a wet party, a great option for loot is to forego the candy and toys and instead give each child a rain poncho or galoshes. Some colourful yet inexpensive options are available and you know that this will be something very useful to them.
So have fun while enjoying the rain.
