Fire Brigade, Juici Patties out front in Clarendon
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Sinclair’s Bargain Centre put themselves back into contention for a place in the semi-finals of the Clarendon/Tait’s Pharmacy Business House Football Competition after blanking May Pen Hospital 4-0 in Zone Two action on Wednesday at Mineral Heights.
Easton Davis hit a brace (ninth and 14th minutes), while Patrick Ellis (20th) and Damion Bowen (11th) netted the others for Sinclair’s to record their third win.
They have now improved to nine points, one adrift of second-placed Transport Services (10) and three behind leaders Juici Patties (12), who boast the competition’s only 100 per cent win record so far.
In the other result from the zone, Stephano Campbell hit a 11th-minute winner as Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) (five) clipped bottom-of-the-table Courts 1-0 to record their first win.
In Zone One, Carryshell outscored Jamaica Public Service (JPS) 3-2, also for their first win, but are still a far way from making the semis.
Sheldon Singh (fourth minute), Ryan Singh (21st) and Kevin Willaims (18th) were on target for Carryshell, while Andre Harrison (seventh) and Chadroy Clayton (17th) responded for JPS.
May Pen Fire Brigade lead the zone with nine points, while Mack Rebuilders, Government Agencies and Glass and Windows round out the top-four with eight points apiece.
The competition continues tomorrow with Fire Brigade playing JPS, Carryshell tackling May Pen Police, Government Agencies going up against Glass and Windows and Stewart’s Hardware opposing Mack Rebuilders in Zone One.
In Zone Two, Juici take on Transport, Courts meet Sinclair’s, Young’s battle Epic Hardware and JNBS playing May Pen Hospital.
All games will be played at the Mineral Heights playing field.
