RIRI’S raunchy moves in front of young fans
It appears that music producer Mike Stock has made a rather valid — and worrying — point, because just two days after he slammed the pop charts for being too pornographic for children, Rihanna took to the stage on Thursday with a rather sexually suggestive dance move. The singer grabbed her microphone and used it in a phallic way in front of her young fans at the concert at New York’s Madison Square Gardens, which only reiterated Stock’s point that modern pop culture is ‘sexualising’ youngsters.
Stock, 58, was one-third of the legendary pop factory Stock, Aitken and Waterman, and helped launch the career of Kylie Minogue. Earlier this week he said: “The music industry has gone too far. It’s not about me being old-fashioned, it’s about keeping values that are important in the modern world. These days you can’t watch modern stars like Britney Spears or Lady Gaga with a two-year-old. Ninety-nine per cent of the charts is R & B and 99 per cent of that is soft pornography. Kids are being forced to grow up too young. Look at the videos. I wouldn’t necessarily want my young kids to watch them. And I would certainly be embarrassed to sit there with my mum.” Although Rihanna is known for her raunchy dance moves and skimpy, revealing outfits, she does have thousands of young fans, many of whom may have been in the audience in New York last night. Not that it stopped the singer strutting her stuff in an outfit that left very little to the imagination as she thrust and gyrated on stage, but it was the suggestive move with her microphone that really stood out as she showed no shame while performing it.

Hilton vows vigorous defense of $35 million suit
Paris Hilton’s attorneys said on Thursday that a $35 million lawsuit against the socialite was meritless and they would mount a spirited defence, and possibly pursue a countersuit.
Hilton was sued on Wednesday in Los Angeles for allegedly breaching a contract to promote and wear hair extensions manufactured by Hairtech International Inc. The company is seeking $35 million in damages –10 times what it paid Hilton for her endorsement. Hairtech claimed Hilton did not wear the company’s extensions as promised and missed a launch party in 2007 because she was in jail. They claim the damages from the missed appearance were at least $6.6 million. Hilton served 23 days in 2007 after she was caught driving twice on a suspended licence while on probation for reckless driving. A jury or judge will decide whether Hilton owes Hairtech any money if the case goes to trial.

Lindsay Lohan to move to New York after rehab
Lindsay Lohan’s mom Dina says the actress will be moving away from California and back to New York after she gets out of drug rehabilitation. “Lindsay will be coming to New York. California is a wonderful state, but “it’s a different game you play there”, she said.
During a very tense interview with NBC Today Show co-host Matt Lauer on Friday, she said her daughter was doing “wonderfully” after 14 days in jail and lashed out at California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, who put the actress there. ”She’s great, she’s been through a lot. The judge played hardball. Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she’s become friends with a lot of them. She rolled with the punches and she’s doing wonderfully,” Lohan said. The actress served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence for violating her probation in a 2007 drug case. She was sent to a UCLA drug rehab facility for a court-mandated three-month treatment, and her mother said she’d be out soon. Lohan said she had put her daughter in drug rehab the first time, and argued with Lauer over how many times Lindsay had been in drug treatment. She also argued that her daughter’s life has been under a microscope because of tabloid interest.
