Vindel Kerr recognised by international corporate governance body
GOVSTRAT chief executive officer Dr Vindel Kerr was last month recognised by the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) for his achievements in the field of corporate governance.
At the ICGN’s annual global summit, held June 7 to 9 in Canada, Kerr was one of five outstanding Scholars selected from across the world for the 2010 ICGN scholarships. The special award is bestowed on individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the field of corporate governance. Consistent with the ICGN’s remit is to support leadership development for individuals working in low-income or difficult environments and to promote research in corporate governance in developing countries, to date, over 25 persons from around the world have benefited from ICGN Scholarships and become part of the ICGN auspicious network of leading academics, policymakers and practitioners in the field of corporate governance.
As a scholar, Kerr will inter alia, benefit through mentorship provided by a senior global corporate governance leader, further development in the field of corporate governance and significant networking within the network of world scholars, practitioners and policymakers.
In addition to his stellar efforts in bringing GovStrat’s services to more than 250 corporations in 20 countries, Kerr also serves on many boards in corporate Jamaica, including Jamaica 4-H Clubs and the Planning Institute of Jamaica.
The ICGN 2010 Summit was hosted by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, two of Canada’s largest institutional investors and proponents of good corporate governance.
