Paris Hilton found with marijuana in her handbag at airport in Corsica
Paris Hilton was held by police on Friday night after flying into Corsica with cannabis (marijuana) in her handbag, according to reports. The socialite landed at Figari airport on the French island in a private jet and was due to board a yacht to Sardinia nearby. But she was stopped by police after their sniffer dogs picked her out and she taken into their offices for questioning.
Officers found less than a gram of the drug in her handbag and she was released without charge after less than half-an-hour, according to newspaper Corse-Matin. Police told the local paper: “Hilton was taken aside as she landed at Figari.
She was searched in a secure area of the airport police station and an amount of cannabis that weighed less than a gram was found in her handbag. Due to the small amount of the substance, she was cautioned to not travel with drugs then released within an hour with no criminal charges. The drug was confiscated and destroyed.”
The incident comes less than two weeks after the hotel heiress was arrested for drugs at a World Cup match in South Africa. Hilton, 29, was on her way to the exclusive Porto Cervo resort in Sardinia with her friend Jennifer Rovero. The two were arrested in South Africa on July 2 after police found local marijuana in a designer handbag. The charges against the heiress were later dropped when Rovero admitted possession and was given an £80 fine and a deportation order.

British singer Joss Stone unveiled as latest Bond girl
Joss Stone was unveiled as the latest Bond girl on Friday… for the new video game. A digital version of Stone will star as the femme fatale Nicole Hunter in James Bond 007: Blood Stone, the agent’s new video game.
Dripping with diamonds at the London launch, Stone said: “I would love, love, love to be Bond’s girl in the next film.” Stone said she played her Bond girl a ‘bit like a posh version of Paris Hilton.’
The game is not her first acting role. She has previously played ‘the ugliest woman in Europe’ – Anne of Cleves – in BBC2’s The Tudors, so a Bond girl was an ‘ego boost’. She was disappointed she did not meet Daniel Craig – who stars as the voice of 007 in the new game, as he does on screen – as she finds him ‘incredibly hot’.
The Award-winning artist has also penned an original song for the game with Eurythmics star Dave Stewart – swapping her R&B sound for something more ‘Shirley Bassey’, she said.
Blood Stone also features the voice of Dame Judi Dench as M and was written by GoldenEye screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. James Bond 007: Blood Stone will be in stores this Christmas for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.

Actor George Clooney Testifies at Fraud Trial
Actor George Clooney has testified against three defendants at a fraud trial in Milan and even the judge said it seemed like a Hollywood set. The three defendants are Vincenzo Cannalire, Francesco Galdelli and Vanja Goggi, who are said to have created the GC Exclusive by George Clooney label.
As part of an intricate fraud, they conned suppliers and buyers into thinking Clooney was behind the venture, it was claimed. The brand was a bid to cash in on his A-list celebrity status, it was claimed.
Clooney arrived at the trial early, stopping outside to smile and wave to fans and sign a few autographs. His smiling demeanour changed when he took the stand, however, as he sarcastically congratulated the defendants on their alleged venture. He said: “You have done a very good job.
You should be very proud.” The judge then asked him to refrain from making similar comments. Onlookers also saw the actor glare angrily when a lawyer for the accused said: “We all know that Mr Clooney is an actor – perhaps he is acting here?” After his 90-minute testimony, Judge Pietro Caccialanza thanked Clooney and said the session ”has lasted as long as a movie”.
