Get the Look
Superstar Beyoncé Knowles has kept us busy over the years watching each of her stunning looks, noteworthy videos and powerful voice. While we applaud her artistic talents, we recognise her today for her ever-fabulous hairstyles. Whether braided, curly, wavy or silky-smooth, her hair always looks good. We’ve noticed that she prefers the silky smooth look these days, and since it’s pretty easy to do, we’ll teach you how her hairstylist Kim Kimble creates this look in just three steps.

You’ll need:
Shampoo & Conditioner
An anti-frizz crème of your choice
A rat-tail comb
A flat iron
An oil sheen spray
What to do:
Step 1.
Just relaxed hair gives the best results but it can still be done if this isn’t the case. If you have natural hair, however, shampoo and condition your hair first, as it will be easier to manage and the style looks better when hair is clean.
Step 2.
Work in a dollop of anti-frizz crème into your hair to ensure smoothness, (TRESemmé anti-frizz secret Ultra Light Smoothing Crème is a good option), then blow-dry hair, using a paddle brush to detangle the strands. (The shape of the paddle brush facilitates the straightening process).
* Please note that this part of the process still applies as a part of the straightening process, even if you haven’t washed your hair.
Step 3.
Using a rat-tail comb, take out small sections of your hair; comb it out to about an inch from the roots, then place the flat-iron directly above the comb and pull them both (flat-iron and rat tail comb) straight through to the ends. Do this until all of your hair is completely straight, then finish by spritzing with your favourite brand of oil-sheen. (The idea is to comb your hair out while flat-ironing it, as “the comb detangles the hair strands and pre-smoothes the hair, while the heat seals the style in place,” says Beyoncé’s hairstylist, Kim Kimble.
Now don’t you just love your new, silky-smooth strands? We love it because it works well with a majority of hair types and lengths… plus Ms Sasha Fierce herself is a fan, what’s not to love?
