Smith & Stewart lead JustBet Five-A-Side football
PROMOTED Smith & Stewart/Crazy Jim are sole leaders in Division One of the JustBet-sponsored Business House Five-A-Side Football competition with 10 points, after playing to 2-2 draw with Jamaica Broilers last Tuesday.
Mark Belto and Shawn Lee gave Jamaica Broilers a 2-0 half-time lead, but Romaine Thomas and David Johnson scored in the second half, to ensure that their team remain undefeated.
Jamaica Broilers are in second place with eight points. They are followed by promoted Division Two champion UDC, who lost 1-2 to Peak Bottling. Jermaine Savage scored a brace for Peal Bottling, while Jerome Wedderburn got the consolation for UDC. Scotiabank Group A defeated Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited 5-0 with Elgin Mitchell scoring a brace, Stefan Bartley, Donovan Hibbert and Shem Lord also scored. They are on seven points also.
Telecom Installation and Maintenance Services lead zone one in Division Two with 10 points, CCMG/BCIC (ICD Group) are in second place on nine points. Honey Bun Limited lead zone two with 10 points after they defeated Port Security Corps Limited 4-1 with Marlon Wright scoring twice. Network Plus Solutions Limited stopped Continental Baking Company Limited 3-0 to lead zone three with six points. Kemar Cockburn scored a brace, while Victor Samuels got the other goal.
Quality Fast One Builders Limited are in second place on four points. COK Sodality Co-op Credit Union lead group four with eight points, with Island Grill, BH Paints, Passport Immigration & Citizenship Agency and VMBS all on seven points.
FCIB secured the largest victory of the week when they defeated Love FM 9-0 with George Smith and Clayton Brown scoring hat-tricks. The competition continues on Mondays through Thursdays with eight matches each day starting at 6:30 pm.
