Security forces doing an excellent job
Dear Editor,
The security forces and their leaders ought to be highly commended on their tactics, fearlessness, their intelligence and the effective assault to date on criminals. Never before have we seen this type of success, where the most wanted and feared man was captured with such ease. If they can capture ‘Dudus’, they can capture every single gunman left on the island.
The security forces must not let up. The assault on crime must not end anytime soon. They must build and invest in their intelligence resources and target all areas, including upscale communities and individuals who previously thought they were untouchable.
All sectors must throw their full support behind the war against crime. Never before has there been such an opportunity. Jamaica is bubbling with potential and ripe opportunities, if only we can control this monster and enhance our quality of life.
The PM and the Government were forced to go this route over the extradition controversy, and with all their imperfections, they now have at their disposal an excellent opportunity to define a new path for Jamaica and Jamaicans at large. No stone must be left unturned. And those at the top who support criminals must be pursued, weeded out and punished.
