Kudos for Ja, US security forces
Dear Editor,
We would like to congratulate the Jamaican and United States governments for the stellar manner in which Mr Christopher Coke was taken into custody.
Here you saw a team of Jamaican and United States law enforcement officers working together: United States Marshals, Commissioner Owen Ellington, the hard-working ACP Les Green, and Commander in charge of St Catherine North Assan Thompson, a man who always works tirelessly with his entire team. It was in their area that Mr Coke was taken into custody and placed in a helicopter at the Prison Oval.
I happened to have been in the area on Tuesday and as I drove along the Twickenham Park Road on my way to Spanish Town I heard a helicopter above. Soon a big navy blue van drove past me, followed by a convoy of police vehicles.
People were standing on the sides of the road looking on. I realised that something “big” was happening in Spanish Town again! And it was really big! I quickly parked in the nearby Shell gas station, as I did not want to be caught in any crossfire — just in case there was shooting.
A man came up to me and said, “Dem catch Dudus.”
The United States is a great partner, and if we all work together we can achieve great things.
