I Octane completes video shoot for My Life
Reggae artiste I Octane who is currently climbing the charts with the songs Lose a Friend and Think a Little Time, recently completed a video shoot for his latest single My Life.
My Life was produced by DJ Frass. The video was shot in sections of Kingston last weekend under the direction of Asha McHail.
I Octane recently recorded the song Hold You in My Arms for radio jock turned producer ZJ Chrome. The song is featured on the Cardiac Bass rhythm project.
Future Fambo scores a hit with Drinking Rum
Veteran dancehall deejay Future Fambo seems to have a hit on his hands with the song Drinking Rum. The song which features Beenie Man, is currently getting loads of attention both at radio and in the dancehall.
Fambo whose last hits were Tom Drunk and Drunken Dance, shot onto the musical radar in 1994 under the name Future Troubles. He scored a number one single with the Courtney Cole produced Kung Fu.
He later followed up with China Mi Live which scraped several local charts.
A video for Drinking Rum was recently directed by Janelle Dyer.
Shaggy featured on remix of Drake’s Find Your Love
Rapper Drake released his long awaited solo debut album Thank Me Later on June 15.
The album features collaborations with the likes of Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys and his label mate Nicki Minaj. Jamaican dancehall artiste Shaggy is featured on a remix of Drake’s current chart hit Find your Love.
Incidentally, Drake’s album Thank Me Later is tipped to top the Billboard 200 album chart next week. It is projected to sell more than 450,000 copies in its first week of release.
Cecile’s Talk Talk slips on Germany’s R&B singles chart
Cecile’s Talk Talk, which peaked at number ten on Germanys’ R&B Singles chart a few weeks ago, and has now fallen to number 19.
Last year, Cecile topped the German R&B chart with Hot Like We.
Another reggae tune is blazing its way on the German chart. Gentleman’s It No Pretty is at number seven.

Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg continue to lead the pack on the Billboard Hot 100 with their smash hit California Girls.
Gyptian’s Hold Yuh zooms from 50 to 34 on Billboard’s R&B Hip Hop Singles & tracks chart. Over on the Hot 100 chart, Hold Yuh jumps from 98 to 91. The song is number five on Billboard’s Heatseekers Singles chart, while maintaining its lock at the number one spot on the Digital Reggae Singles chart.
Distant Relatives, the collaborative album by rapper Nas and Damian Marley is king of the hill on Billboard’s Reggae album chart, while over on Billboard’s Dance Music Club Play Chart, Atlanta native Erika Jayne scores her fourth number one with Pretty Mess.
Over on the UK Singles chart, Shout for England by Shout featuring UK rapper Dizzee Rascal (he is of Nigerian and Ghanaian parentage), takes over the number one spot.
Clarks by Vybz Kartel featuring Popcaan and Vanessa Bling is the number one most played song across College radio stateside, according to Media Guide’s weekly reggae charts.
