Artistes lineup for I Am Jamaica song project
Veteran reggae artiste Hopeton Lindo is spearheading a song project commissioned by the Jamaican Diaspora Movement in South Florida, entitled I Am Jamaica
According to Lindo, who is best known for the hits Territory and Turf, the song is aimed at encouraging Jamaicans to come together and unite.
“I was approached to work on this project which is aimed at inspiring Jamaicans at home and abroad. The song is very appropriate at this time,” Lindo said in a recent interview.
I Am Jamaica was produced by Lindo and it features the vocals of Shaggy, Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths, Courtney John, Lindo, Peter G, Sophia Brown, Fiona and Anthony Cruz.
Some of the artistes featured on the recording have already shot their scenes for an accompanying music video.
“All the artistes volunteered their time for this and all the proceeds from the song will be going towards various charities in Jamaica,” Lindo explained. — Kevin Jackson
