JNSBL launches Eezy Loan payment card
JN Small Business Loans Limited (JNSBL), the microfinance subsidiary of Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), has launched a new payment card aimed at making loan repayments simpler for customers.
The JNSBL Eezy Pay card allows customers to make payments at kiosks located in the JN Express section of the banking hall at the JNBS Half Way Tree branch, says Frank Whylie, JNSBL general manager, and at point-of-sale terminals at JNSBL post office locations across the island.
“The new payment system is user friendly,” said Whylie last week, adding that “It also enhances our customer experience as they don’t have to wait in lines to make their payments.”
Customers previously completed vouchers before making payments directly to a teller or cashier at their local JNBS branch or post office; however, with the new card system, they can now make their loan payments utilising a simple four-step process.
The platform for the new JNSBL payment system was developed by Management Control Systems Limited (MCS), another subsidiary company of JNBS, which focuses primarily on software development, transaction processing and system integration services for companies within the JN Group and organizations globally.
Leveraging key hardware components from two of its main technology partners, Hewlett Packard (HP) and VeriFone, the company developed two payment solutions for use with the Eezy Pay Card. Both solutions utilise a four step process: Swipe your card; enter the payment amount; make the payment and collect your receipt. JNSBL representatives have been placed in the specific locations to assist customers with the new payment process.
“Our main objective was to provide innovative solutions that would allow JNSBL customers to make payments on their loan accounts in a manner that was both efficient and customer-friendly,” explained Colin McGann, assistant general manager for Software Development Services at MCS.
“The first solution utilises the wireless VeriFone point-of-sale terminals at JNSBL appointed post office locations, to collect customers’ payment information. And, the second payment solution uses the HP TouchSmart PC, an all-in-one touch screen computer system implemented as a self-service kiosk inside the banking hall of the JNBS Half Way Tree Branch,” said McGann.
“Both systems eliminate the need for customers to fill out vouchers when making deposits and with the use of the self-service kiosk there is no need to join a teller line,” he added.
