Resign, PM
Dear Editor,
For the good of the country the prime minister has to resign. As long as Christopher “Dudus” Coke remains at large, there will be widespread speculation and suspicion that he is still being protected by the prime minister or his acolytes. Second, PM Golding is not likely to win a second term because the people of Tivoli Gardens will not vote for him in the future.
In effect, the prime minister will be a lame-duck politician. People will begin to question his motives; he will lack credibility (both at home and abroad), and will fail to enjoy the full support of his party, the government or the country.
Most important, this Dudus affair needs closure so that the government and people can start refocusing on more immediate and pressing issues such as the country’s finances and education.
It is, indeed, time to find a new leader, turn over a new leaf, and start the important task of rebuilding our government and our country.
