Face the truth, Bruce
Dear Editor,
I believe that the prime minister’s anger at the US media reports is misplaced. He should be angry with himself because of garrison politics. He should be angry with the Opposition for having their share of it as well. He should be angry with Mr Seaga in whose constituency it was, too. He should be angry that so many children are suffering as a result of the conflict between gangs and police. He should be angry that it has to come to all this. It matters not that some of the information reported was incorrect.
The truth has a way of standing on its own. The prime minister needs to face the truth – the truth about how garrison politics has destroyed democracy in the country. These are the things that the prime minister should be truly angry about. He needs to look in the mirror and divert this negative emotion to the right place and “self-correct”.
