Cartoon spot on
Dear Editor,
It’s a rather sad situation, but the reality of our Jamaican state of affairs is expertly captured in the May 21 Clovis cartoon, which depicts our major political parties as Jamaica’s most wanted gang leaders, spot on. Thank you for putting the mirror before us, Clovis. It is frightening and depressing, but it is indeed our tragic reality!
This cartoon should be placed on huge billboards across Jamaica.
Are we really surprised about our high crime rate when our governing and Opposition parties are linked to extortion killings, political violence, murders, rape, creating garrisons and protecting criminals?
Do we really expect nation-building from these two organisations? I hope my fellow Jamaicans will wake up and take a principled stand and put country first.
